Pickled beets with the addition of sunflower oil and garlic always come to the rescue, especially in a lean year. A simple set of ingredients makes a very tasty salad for the winter. The products are affordable, and this homemade preparation is quick. There is one “disadvantage” - it is eaten, too, very quickly. It’s just such a delicious beet salad that all my eaters love.

To prepare our “simple snack” you will need:

— red beets (vinaigrette) – 1 kg;

— granulated sugar – 100 gr.;

- salt - 1 tsp. (without slide);

- vinegar - 100 ml;

- water - 1 liter.

– sunflower oil (refined) – 50 – 100 ml.

For pickling, I usually select vinaigrette beets of medium size, without damage.

Selected root vegetables must be washed to remove soil residues and cooked until half cooked. This takes approximately 30–35 minutes. To peel.

While the beets are cooking, we can peel and cut the garlic into small pieces.

We will also have time to wash the jars in which we will then put the vegetables.

Next, the boiled beets need to be cut into strips. You shouldn’t chop it too thin; let the cubes be of medium size (as in the photo).

When the cutting is finished, you can start cooking the marinade. In the meantime, the water is boiling for it, we will have time to put our beetroot straws into jars, and don’t forget to add chopped garlic on top of the beets.

We fill the jars with our preparation with boiling marinade and set them to sterilize, covering them with sterile lids.

For half-liter jars, 20 minutes is enough, but if the pickled beets are packaged in liter containers, then we sterilize the jars for 35 minutes. Then the jars need to be hermetically sealed and allowed to cool “upside down”.

When serving, such pickled beets do not require any additives; this is a complete winter salad with oil already added. Open the jar, place the preparation on a plate and you can serve it as a side dish.
