Categories: Pickles

If your recipe book only contains recipes for regular pickled cucumbers, then try to diversify your homemade preparations by preparing cucumbers in grape leaves.

Although this recipe is unusual in content and quite labor-intensive, canned cucumbers will delight you in winter with their new, original and unusual taste. The effort spent on preparation will be justified in winter by the end result.

And this is how to cover cucumbers in grape leaves.

Select small, even cucumbers, wash, rinse with boiling water and rinse again with cold water.

Wash and dry the grape leaves thoroughly.

Wrap the cucumbers in leaves, carefully folding the edges.

Place compactly in three-liter jars.

Now prepare the filling.

Bring the water to a boil.

Add juice (apple or grape), add salt and sugar.

Pour the boiling brine over the cucumbers and let it brew for about 5 minutes.

Pour the filling into the pan and let it boil again.

Repeat this process twice and seal the jar hermetically the third time.

For a three-liter jar you need to take 1.5-2 kg of small cucumbers, grape leaves (according to the number of vegetables), about 1 liter of water, 300 grams of apple or grape juice, 50 grams of salt, 50 grams of sugar.

Thanks to the grape leaves, canned cucumbers will remain natural green in color, but will acquire an interesting taste that your guests will undoubtedly appreciate. In winter, after opening the jar, do not throw away the leaves themselves either. You can use them to make dolma (a type of cabbage roll, but with grape leaves instead of cabbage).
