Ingredients we need:
– apples – 3 kg
– sugar – 300 g
Cooking apples in their own juice.
Take the largest grater you have in your kitchen and grate the washed apples onto it.
The apples chopped in this way should be immediately covered with sugar, mixed and placed in half-liter jars.
We will cover the jars with lids, which must be boiled beforehand and set to sterilize.
When the apples heat up during the sterilization process, the sugar will begin to melt and the mass itself will significantly decrease in volume. So, when this happens, add more chopped apples - right up to the hangers of the jars. It takes at least twenty minutes to sterilize the jars after adding the second portion of apples. Then roll them up and leave them to cool right in the water.
Apple preparations prepared according to this recipe can be served with dishes such as pancakes, puddings, pancakes, cottage cheese casseroles, etc. But in our family, this is the most delicious filling for pies and other sweet pastries.
