The preparation of Mirabelle plums with sugar has a beautiful amber color and quite original taste. After all, this fruit is a hybrid of ordinary plum and cherry plum, which have very pronounced aromas.

We'll tell you step by step how to prepare plums for the winter with sugar.

Plum Mirabelle

Take ripe but still firm mirabelle - 1.2 kg.

Pierce the skin of each one several times with a wooden stick.

Place the fruits in a jam container.

Pour mirabelle with hot syrup (sugar - 400 g, water - 1 glass, juice of 1 lemon). You can replace the yellow lemon with green lime or add a pinch of citric acid to the syrup.

Wrap the basin in a thick cloth, place it on the balcony and wait until it cools down.

In the morning, separate the fruits from the syrup and boil the latter again.

Pour this syrup over the fruits in a bowl and immediately place everything together on the fire.

Cook the mirabelle for no more than two minutes so that the skin does not start to slip off.

Transfer the boiling fruits along with the syrup into jars and be sure to sterilize them before sealing.

Heat treatment should be done for 25 minutes for 0.5 liter cans, 30 minutes for 1 liter cans.

This preparation with sugar is a kind of Mirabelle plum jam. In winter, it is perfect for making compotes or jelly. This plum with sugar is uniquely tasty as an independent dessert.
