How to cook plums in syrup for the winter
Please note that this recipe requires a plum that is not too ripe so that the fruits in the syrup hold their shape better. So, sort out the yellow plums, remove the stems and wash them well.
Remove the pits from a whole plum so that it remains whole. To do this, you can use sushi chopsticks or a crochet hook, generally a long stick that can be used to push out the bone.
Prepare syrup. Mix sugar and water in a convenient container and simmer until the sugar is completely dissolved and the syrup becomes slightly viscous.
Place the pitted yellow plums into the syrup and cook for about 7-10 minutes over very low heat. Stir the plums very carefully with a wooden spatula so as not to destroy the plums.
Place the plums with a spatula into the prepared jars and pour syrup on top.
Roll up the jars with a special key.Turn over and cover with a warm towel.
After cooling completely, put the jars in a cool place for storage.
