Juice from frozen pumpkin for the winter - two recipes
Vegetable juices, along with fruit and berry juices, have firmly established themselves in our kitchens. But it is not always possible to make juices from fresh vegetables, because storing such large vegetables as pumpkin or watermelon requires space and special conditions that simply do not exist in the apartment. But you can freeze vegetables and make juice from the same frozen pumpkin in winter.
This even has its advantages - after all, frozen pumpkin for the winter The specific and not very pleasant smell disappears, because of which it is simply impossible to force a child to drink a glass of pumpkin juice.
Depending on how you froze the pumpkin, the juice can be prepared in different ways.
Juice from boiled frozen pumpkin
For 200 grams of frozen pumpkin:
- Juice of one orange
- 100 grams of boiled chilled water
- 50 gr. Sahara
Place the frozen pumpkin cubes in a blender and wait until they thaw. Turn on the blender and puree the cubes.
Add orange juice, water, sugar to the bowl and blend thoroughly again. If the juice is too thick, add a little more water.
Juice from raw frozen pumpkin
Without waiting for the pieces of frozen pumpkin to melt, grate it using a coarse grater. Wait 15-20 minutes, place the grated pumpkin in a gauze bag and squeeze out the juice thoroughly. Add lemon juice and sugar to taste, and no one will ever guess that this is pumpkin juice.
The remaining pumpkin pulp can be made into a puree, or homemade marmalade for children.
