Salted pears with dogwood and geranium leaves - an original Bulgarian recipe for canning pears for the winter.
Salted pears are an unusual winter recipe for most of us. We are used to preparing delicious compotes, preserves and jams from pears... But for Bulgarians, these are also excellent fruits for preparing an original snack. These canned pears will decorate any holiday or regular family menu.
How to preserve pears for the winter in Bulgarian style.
Take small hard pears of any variety, you can even wild ones, rinse thoroughly, remove the stems, and compactly place them in three-liter jars.

Arrange the fruit with clean geranium leaves, adding dogwood berries.
Add salt and citric acid.
Boil water and, once cooled, pour into jars.
Seal with lids.
Turn the jars upside down or lids up every day. In total they will stand for 20 days. And after that, your original snack is ready.
For 3-liter jars, you need to take 2 kg of pears, 100 g of dogwood, 4-5 geranium leaves, 1 tbsp. salt, a pinch of citric acid and 1.3 liters of water.
Preparing pears for the winter - ready! You can store canned pears according to the original recipe in the pantry or in another cool place.
