Candied apples are a natural and very healthy winter treat for adults and children. This amazing recipe for candied fruits cannot be called very simple, but the result is an incredibly tasty and natural sweetness. If you decide to make candied apples at home, you will not regret it one bit.

What are candied fruits made from? It's very simple, we need:

— apples — 15 pcs.;

- sugar - 400 g;

- water - 500 ml.

For powder:

- sugar - 2 cups;

- cinnamon;

- carnation;

- orange zest.

How to make candied apples.

The apples must be washed, cut into four parts and the seeds removed, but the core left. Gently sprinkle it with pre-dried orange zest.

Take a bowl or pan, pour water and add sugar. Bring the syrup to a boil and add quartered apples. Cook until the apples take on a slightly translucent appearance and begin to brown. As soon as this happens, you need to sprinkle them with a pre-prepared mixture of sugar, crushed cloves, cinnamon and orange zest and continue cooking the apples in syrup in this form. Apples need to be constantly turned over during the cooking process, but do this very carefully.

Cook candied apples until almost all the syrup has boiled away. While the apples are simmering, turn on the oven and heat it to maximum.The baking sheet in the original recipe is covered with straw, but it is quite possible to replace it with parchment paper.

Take out the apple quarters, place them on a baking sheet and generously sprinkle with sugar. We put the baking sheet in the oven, but before that we turn off the heat in it. Let the oven cool down along with the candied fruits, take out the baking sheet, turn the apples over, sprinkle them with sugar again and put them back into the preheated oven.

Place the prepared candied apples in a jar. Cover the neck of the jar with parchment paper, which should be slightly moistened with alcohol. Next, seal the parchment with cellophane. If you have cling film on hand, it will be perfect for this purpose.

Store natural candied apples in a cool place. An important storage condition is the absence of direct sunlight. In addition to directly eating and encouraging little sweet tooths, homemade candied apples can be used as a decoration for homemade baked goods and other delicious desserts.
