Pumpkin juice with orange for the winter
My son said that this pumpkin juice with orange reminds him, in appearance and taste, of honey. We all love to drink it in our family, not only in winter, but also in autumn, during the pumpkin harvest.
There is nothing easier than making orange-flavored pumpkin juice for the winter. My step-by-step recipe with photos will help you cope with such a preparation very easily and simply.
To make delicious and aromatic pumpkin juice with orange you need:
- 4 kg pumpkin;
- 2 oranges;
- 750 grams of sugar;
- 1 tablespoon citric acid;
- 7 liters of water.
How to make pumpkin juice with orange at home
So, take the pumpkin, cut it in half and clean out all the seeds. It is convenient to do this using a regular tablespoon.
Then, cut the pulp into slices, as always, cut a watermelon. We cut each piece into small squares.
Take an orange and peel off the skin. Some boil it with the skin on, and then remove it before it needs to be put through a meat grinder. You can try to cook both ways, and as a result you will be able to choose the most suitable option for you.
Place everything in a large saucepan and cook until the pumpkin is done.
This will take approximately 20 minutes. Then, take the oranges and pumpkin into separate bowls and grind the pulp. This can be done using a blender or meat grinder.Today I used a regular potato masher.
Now, the juice and pulp need to be passed through a fine sieve or pressed through cheesecloth. If you don’t want to, you don’t have to add the pulp to the juice. It's a matter of taste. I got this beautiful pumpkin juice with orange.
Now, add citric acid and sugar to the crushed pulp with pumpkin juice. Bring to a boil and pour into sterile jars. We close it and the workpiece is ready.
Store pumpkin juice with orange, preferably in the cellar. You can cook it even in winter if you stock up on healthy pot-bellied pumpkins in advance. Or you can prepare pumpkin juice for future use in the fall and enjoy this healthy and tasty drink all winter.
