Did you know that strawberries, mint and lemon go well together? From these three ingredients you can prepare amazingly tasty and aromatic strawberry jam with lemon slices, cooked in mint syrup.

In addition to the interesting taste and aroma, this preparation has one more advantage - after cooking, the strawberry berries remain intact and do not become overcooked. Be sure to try making a jar or two of delicious strawberry jam, following my step-by-step recipe with photos.

Ingredients:

  • strawberries – 4 kg;
  • mint - medium bunch;
  • sugar – 3 kg;
  • large lemon – 1 pc.

How to make strawberry jam with whole berries

Before cooking, place the strawberries in a colander and wash under running cold water.

Then, remove the stems from the berries.

The lemon needs to be thoroughly washed and cut into small slices straight with the peel, not forgetting to remove the seeds along the way.

Next, you should wash a bunch of mint and chop the leaves along with the stems with a knife.

Place the chopped mint in a bowl and pour boiling water (350 ml). Let the broth brew for twenty minutes and strain the broth through a sieve.

We will use mint water to prepare sugar syrup.

Pour the broth into a pan, pour sugar into it, stir and put the pan on the fire.

We need the syrup to boil and the sugar to dissolve.

It is better to cook the jam in a large stainless steel pan (as in my photo) or in an aluminum basin or bowl.

And so, put the prepared strawberries and lemon in a vessel for making jam, fill it with boiling syrup, cover the pan with a lid and let the jam brew for six hours.

After this, the strawberries must be carefully selected with a slotted spoon into another container.

Bring the strawberry syrup to a boil and simmer for eight minutes. Then, we combine the berries with the syrup again and let the jam brew for another six hours.

After time, you need to prepare sterile jars and sealing lids. Place the jam on the stove and bring to a boil (berries along with syrup).

If the jam is not thick enough, you can simmer it for another five to ten minutes over low heat.

Then, scald a ladle with boiling water, with which we pour the jam into the prepared container: carefully transfer the whole berries, fill with syrup and seal hermetically with lids.
