How to make chokeberry jam with cherry leaves.

Chokeberry

To prepare this recipe, it is better to prepare cherry leaves in advance; they are most fragrant when the cherry blossoms. I always pick them and dry them when I plan to make this jam. For one kilogram of rowan berries you need 100 cherry leaves.

And so, pour half of the prepared leaves with three glasses of water and boil for five minutes. When the infusion of leaves has cooled, pour it over the rowan berries and leave for 6-8 hours.

Next, take out the rowan fruits with a slotted spoon, and put the remaining leaves into the infusion and boil it again. Let's cool again. The leaves are no longer useful to us, we remove them and fill the rowan again. Let it brew again for 6-8 hours.

Then we drain the infusion and to prepare syrup for 1 kg of sugar we give 1 glass of decoction of cherry leaves.

Pour the prepared syrup over the rowan berries and cook the berries until fully cooked.

When the rowan berry preparation has cooled, it can be packaged in jars and stored for storage.

In winter, open and enjoy healthy rowan jam with a wonderful cherry aroma. It simply goes perfectly with aromatic hot tea, and will also be very helpful in decorating various desserts.
