Delicious homemade ketchup with apples and tomatoes for the winter
Homemade ketchup is a delicious and healthy universal sauce. Today I will not be making ordinary tomato ketchup. Let's add apples to the traditional set of vegetables. This version of the sauce goes well with meat, pasta, and is used in making pizza, hot dogs and homemade pies.

How to make ketchup with apples at home
The first thing you need to do is prepare all the necessary ingredients and a container in which the ketchup will be cooked.
You will need 4 kg of tomatoes. Choose only well-ripe, fleshy tomatoes. Wash them, cut them into 4 pieces and place them in a saucepan.
Next, wash and peel the red bell pepper (0.5 kg), hot capsicum (2 pcs.), onions (0.5 kg), apples (0.5 kg). All vegetables must be cut coarsely and sent to the tomatoes. Choose apples with a high content of pectin (for example, Delicious or Simirenko). This is necessary so that the ketchup has a thicker consistency. You can change the amount of hot pepper depending on your taste preferences.
Place the pan with vegetables on the fire. After boiling, add cloves (6-7 pcs.), allspice peas (12 pcs.), black peppercorns (12 pcs.).Reduce heat, stirring occasionally, and cook for an hour with the lid open.
After an hour, remove the pan from the heat and leave the vegetables to steep in a cool place for 8-12 hours.
After the specified period of time, boiled vegetables must be passed (once) through a juicer. To the resulting mass you need to add sugar (400 grams), salt (1 tbsp.), nutmeg (0.5 tbsp.), cinnamon (1.5 tbsp.) and let it cook for another 45 minutes. . After the time has passed, add vinegar (100 grams) to the vegetable mixture and cook for another 15 minutes.
Pour the cooked ketchup into jars (pre-washed and sterilized) and roll it up.
Wrap the jars in a blanket, turn them upside down and leave to cool for 1-2 days.
As you can see, making homemade ketchup with apples and tomatoes for the winter does not require so many ingredients and time, but the result will undoubtedly delight you with its taste.
