Delicious vegetable cheese made from physalis - a healthy recipe for the winter.
The recipe for physalis cheese is quite simple. In addition to the fact that the cheese is delicious, thanks to the addition of medicinal dill and caraway seeds, it is also useful: a mild laxative for the stomach, removes toxins from the body.
Let's start homemade preparations for the winter with the preparation of raw materials.
We take vegetable physalis, also called Mexican, clean it from the cups in which each berry was located, pour boiling water over it and wipe it with a clean cloth. This will remove the slippery coating better.
Cut the physalis into pieces, sprinkle with sugar, leave to form juice, and then cook until the mixture is thick.
Further preparation of physalis cheese occurs as follows.
Add dill and caraway seeds to the hot mixture, stir, let cool, put on thick cloth, shape into cheese, put under a press for 2-3 days.
Roll the finished physalis cheese in cumin seeds and place in a cool place. The juice that drains from the cheese can be drunk fresh or boiled, add half a teaspoon of citric acid to 1 liter of juice and roll up.
For 1 kg of Physalis vegetable fruits, take 200 g of sugar, 1 tbsp. spoon of dill and caraway seeds.
Freshly prepared cheese can be consumed immediately. Vegetable cheese prepared for future use is well preserved in a cool place, but no more than 2-3 years.
