I tried tomatoes with onions in gelatin for the first time somewhere at a party. I prepared these delicious tomatoes, marinated according to an unusual recipe, myself next season. Many of my friends, and most importantly, my family, liked it. I present to you an original homemade recipe - marinated tomato slices.
For such homemade preparations, tomatoes that are not overripe, but also plump and fairly large, are best suited.
How to cook tomatoes in gelatin for the winter.
And so, the tomatoes need to be washed and cut into four to six parts.
Peel the onions and cut into rings.
We will place the tomatoes and onions in the prepared jars in stages, alternating them in layers.
For a three-liter jar you will need two to three large onions.
Then you should prepare the brine. To do this, crush sugar, spices and salt in water and boil this mixture for about three to five minutes and cool. For the brine you will need:
- four liters of water;
- salt - 100 grams;
– sugar – 500 grams;
- spices - bay leaf, cinnamon, allspice, dill and cloves, add all this to taste;
Pour gelatin with warm water and leave to swell for three to four hours.
For gelatin solution:
– warm water – 200 grams;
- gelatin - 11 teaspoons.
Mix the cooled brine with dissolved gelatin, pour this mixture over the tomatoes and onions placed in jars.
At the last stage of preparation, we need to sterilize our workpiece. Three liter jars: twenty to thirty minutes.
Just before rolling, pour one teaspoon of vinegar into each jar.
Marinated tomatoes with onions prepared according to this recipe are guaranteed to please your guests. This assortment looks very appetizing on the holiday table and is very tasty. Tomato slices in jelly, prepared at home for the winter, are an excellent addition to main courses and winter snacks.
