Plum jam prepared according to the presented recipe is perfectly stored, even without screwing the lids on. Our grandmothers covered such plum jam with paper, secured it with an elastic band and left it in the cellar for the whole winter.

Workpiece composition:

- plums - 2 kg.

— water — 2 glasses;

- sugar - 2 kg.

How to make plum jam:

The preparation is very simple. Select healthy, ripe fruits and remove the seeds.

Such a preparation should be cooked over high heat. It only takes 5-8 minutes and the fruit halves, filled with water, will boil well.

Then you can add sugar and cook for another couple of minutes until the fruits become sufficiently soft. Just don’t let them completely “fall apart”.

Important: do not forget to stir the mixture and remove any foam that forms.

We pour jam into jars, close them with lids (we will do it in a modern way), cool them and put them in the basement or cellar for storage.

Another important point: You can adjust the thickness of the jam yourself during cooking, it depends on where you want to use it.
