How to pickle lard in a jar at home.
Cut long pieces of lard into oblique slices, two or three centimeters thick.
Mix salt and pepper. For every 100 grams of salt, take a teaspoon of ground pepper. Generously grate pieces of lard with this pickling mixture and place them in a jar.
Lay it in such a way that, looking from above, the lard resembles a flower with petals, i.e. Place the narrow side of the lard in the center and then the wider sides will be at the edges. We do this styling not for beauty. It is needed to fill the jar more densely. If the pieces of lard are positioned correctly, there will be a small hole in the center of the jar, which you fill with the remaining salt. Don't forget to put a few bay leaves between the lard.
Close the jar with salted lard with a tight lid and set aside in the cold. After just a week, you can open the preparation and taste it. If the lard is well salted, then put it in a plastic bag and place it in the freezer.
