Red currant jelly, recipe and technology for making currant jelly
Redcurrant jelly is my family’s favorite treat. How to prepare jelly for the winter, preserving all the beneficial properties and vitamins of this wonderful berry?
To make red currant jelly at home we will need:
red currant - 1 kg;
sugar - 1 kg;
water - 1 glass.
How to make currant jelly (step-by-step preparation):
wash and sort the berries;
pour into enamel dishes;
add water;
put on fire and bring to a boil;
after boiling, cook for 2-3 minutes;
let cool under the lid;
rub through cheesecloth or a sieve;
Place the resulting mass again in an enamel bowl;
put on fire and bring to a boil again;
after boiling, cook for 15 minutes;
add and stir sugar;
Let it boil again and cook while stirring for another 15-20 minutes;
pour hot redcurrant jelly into sterilized jars,
roll up or simply cover with plastic lids.
